Literary topics are among the more difficult to research in online databases. To assist you in this, the following are specific recommendations regarding Ovid.

DATABASE	SEARCH TERMS	RESULTS
Academic Search Premier	*ovid* Perform the basic search. Use the checkboxes to search limit your search to "Full Text," and "Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) journals."	Provides a number of relevant items.
Arts & Sciences Collection	*ovid* JSTOR, the search system for Arts & Sciences Collection, searches within its various journal "collections" (click here for details).	Provides a great number of excellent items and a few reviews.
Columbia Granger's World of Poetry Online	*ovid* Perform the default search.	Provides a large number of poems.
Encyclopedia Britannica	*ovid* Perform the default search.	Provides a primary encyclopedia article and several related articles.
Expanded Academic ASAP	*ovid* Perform the Keyword search, NOT the Subject search. Use the checkboxes to search limit your search "to articles with text" and "to refereed publication."	Provides a good number of worthy items.
Literature Resource Center	*ovid* Perform the default (author) search. After you perform your search, select each of the tabs for biography, criticisms, Web links, and journal articles (many are full-text).	Provides a small number of quality documents.
netLibrary	*ovid* Perform the basic search and select the Full Text checkbox.	Provides a small number of quality documents.
Research Library Complete	*ovid* Perform the basic search. Set the "Database" drop-down menu to "Interdisciplinary -Research Library." Use the checkboxes to search limit your search to "Full text articles only" and "Scholarly journals."	Provides a good number of excellent items.
Scribner's	Select "Writers A-Z" and click on the *Ovid* link.	Provides an essay about the author and his works, along with a bibliography.
SIRS Renaissance	*ovid* Perform the "Quick Search."	Provides a small number of excellent items.
