Clinical Pharmacology: This database has a very narrow focus (information about drugs, supplements, etc.)

All other health and medical databases: To a greater extent than many other databases, health and medical databases each have their own flavor, both in terms of their search interface and their content. One is not necessarily better or worse than another--just different. Besides the information of a scientific nature, most databases also cover issues of interest to students in social science programs, e.g., public administration, psychology, and counseling.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 560 journals.

For consumer informational purposes only, this resource contains information on health-related matters from a variety of sources.

Health Source: Consumer Edition via EbscoHost Includes full text.

Resource for the consumer, containing information from periodicals, books, and pamphlets, on nutrition, exercise, medical self-care, drugs, and general health.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition via EbscoHost Includes full text.

Provides more than 550 scholarly full-text journals, 450 of which are peer reviewed, focusing on many medical disciplines. Indexing and abstracts are available for nearly 850 titles.

LexisNexis via LexisNexis Includes full text.

A primary resource for full text journal articles, this is the gateway to a number of databases embedded within. After you are in these databases, click the appropriate area of interest in the left-hand column. Resources include business articles, case law, law reviews, industry reports, company reports, statistics, and health care news. Clicking the various buttons at the top of their page (How Do I?, Sources, News, etc.) produces helpful information.

A specially created online collection of nearly 50,000 full-text books, in a broad range of academic subject categories. These are actual academic books that have been digitized for the convenience of library users. Make sure to read HELP.

Full text of over 430 titles in nursing and allied health, designed to meet the needs of researchers at health-care facilities as well as students enrolled in nursing programs at academic institutions.

Full text of a number of medical and scientific journals published online by the Public Library of Science.

PubMed, including Medline

PubMedCentral (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. It also contains the author manuscripts of articles published by NIH-funded researchers in various non-PMC journals.
