journal articles, your first choices should be the following databases:
PsycArticles,
Psychology
& Behavioral Sciences Collection,
PsycINFO, and ProQuest
Psychology Journals.
For books,
use PsycBooks and NetLibrary.
A minor source is Credo Reference.
The other
databases listed in this section are highly specialized. The ERIC
database indexes articles and documents in the field of education.
The Mental Measurements Yearbook
database provides information about, and reviews of, psychological
assessment instruments.

Reference
Includes full text.
Hundreds of
reference books, covering all academic disciplines. For Counseling
and Psychology students, two excellent resources are The Concise
Corsini Encyclopedia of Psychology and Behavioral Science and
The Penguin Dictionary of Psychology. |

A database,
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education
Sciences, containing more than a million bibliographic records of
journal articles and other education-related materials. These resources
are divided into two groups, articles and documents. The first,
journal articles, are identified by the abbreviation EJ preceding
the numerals. The second, documents (reports, studies, etc.) are
identified by the letters ED preceding the numerals. While all of
the ED materials are full text in the database, not all of the EJ
resources are.

test, purpose, a description of the test materials and time needed,
and one or more reviews of the test. This resource is the electronic

A specially created online
collection of nearly 50,000 full-text books, in a broad range of academic
subject categories. These are actual academic books that have been digitized

The
index for Counseling and Psychology subjects. Provides
indexing and abstracts for over one million articles in 1,700 journals
from over 50 countries. Produced by the American Psychological Association,
it also includes abstracts for dissertations, books and book chapters
ranging in date from 1887 to the present. Although it does not provide
articles in full text, it includes links to full-text articles in
other EBSCO databases. |
