PSY 6635 (Vocational Psychology) students (and others): The following are links to online tests discussed in the presentation linked here.

1. Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator (RHETI) (Nine Types: Reformer, Helper, Motivator, Romantic, Thinker, Skeptic, Enthusiast, Leader, Peacemaker).

  • <http://www.9types.com> What you might try here is the "New Test" link at the top of the page.
  • <http://www.enneagraminstitute.com> What you might try here is the Free RHETI Sampler and the Free Brief QUEST.

2. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (16 types, ISTJ, ISFJ, INFJ, INTJ, ISTP, ISFP, INFP, INTP, ESTP, ESFP, ENFP, ENTP, ESTJ, ESFJ, ENFJ, ENTJ)

  • <http://www.keirsey.com> NOTE: The thing you want to do at this site (besides look around) is take the (free) Keirsey Temperament Sorter II. You can "fabricate" your name and e-mail that it asks you for; it is a computer, it doesn't know or care.

3. John Holland's Self-Directed Search (six types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional).

  • <http://career.missouri.edu/students/explore/thecareerinterestsgame.php> (The Career Interests Game)
  • <http://www.self-directed-search.com> There is no free test here, but it is the home site for the SDS, so I suggest taking a look around. Note the FREE Sample Report linked on the home page. If you look at the final section of the report, Career Information Resources List, you will see references to tools such as the DOT, DHOC, OOH, and GOE; all of which we covered earlier in this presentation. ACTUALLY, you can take the test for free (to see what the test is like), but you can't see the results with paying.
  • <http://www.careerkey.org> NOTE: Although Career Key is a fee-based service, most states have contracted to provide this resource at no charge. Troy University students may use the Alabama site http://www.alabamamentor.org - just register (no charge) for an account.
  • <http://pearsonassessments.com/tests/ciss.htm> CISSŪ (Campbell Interest and Skill Survey), 320-question survey, NOTE: A sample (short) version of the test used to be available online for free, but that is no longer the case; instead, try this ... look at the SAMPLE Individual Profile Report for the CISS <http://pearsonassessments.com/reports/cissprofile-paper.pdf>

4. Birkman Method (plots four behavioral types, Expediting, Communicating, Planning, Administrating).

  • <http://www.birkman.com> This is the site for the producer of the test.
  • To see free samples from this instrument, try http://www.careerlab.com/assessment/birkman.htm (scroll down the page).
